Black caviar on its own is a delicacy. But its amazing flavor can unfold even more fully when combined with different products, giving gourmets a new experience. We’re starting a series of posts with simple and delicious recipes that will help you rediscover the taste of your favorite product, and will be suitable for both a gourmet breakfast and a luxurious dinner.
This recipe is inspired by the book F. Scott Fitzgerald’s Taste of France. At one time you could buy such a sandwich in a Parisian bistro, and eat it with champagne after a night of partying. You don’t have to be in Paris to feel like Hemingway or Fitzgerald, just try this recipe. Enjoy!
- 4 fresh baguette
- 8 tsp creme fraiche
- thinly sliced zest of 1/2 lemon
- sea salt to taste
- freshly-ground pepper to taste
- 8 slices of smoked salmon
- 8 tsp caviar
Cut the baguette into two pieces. Grease both halves with creme fraiche. Add lemon zest, salt and pepper to taste. Then place the salmon slices, spread the caviar all over the surface of your sandwich, and cover with the other half of the baguette. Serve with champagne.
